WASHINGTON - You can do a lot in 19 hours. Binge watch half of House of Cards Season 3, travel from DC to NYC and back twice, put in a full work day, happy hour, and head to bed.
For 19 hours starting on May 13, 2015, wealthy businessman Savvas Savopoulos, his wife Amy, their 10-year-old son Philip and their housekeeper Veralicia Figueroa were held hostage inside their stately Woodland Drive home in Washington, D.C. They were bound, suffocated, stabbed, and beaten. Then with gasoline doused on their bodies, they were set on fire.
One week after the gruesome murders and a nationwide man hunt, one man was arrested for the killings. Daron Wint. The Mansion Murders caught the attention of not only the greater DC-Maryland-Virginia area, but the nation as well. Despite the case’s high-profile status, misinformation and confusion of the details still exist.
For the next six weeks, The Mansion Murders - A FOX 5 True Crime Podcast will shine a greater light on what we know, and identify and examine the areas that are still unsettled and deserve greater attention-- like who is the Savopoulos family? Who is Darren Wint and did he act alone? Plus, who is Jordan Wallace, and what was his involvement?
We hope you will subscribe and share this podcast, as well as let us know your thoughts on the case.
